Dreaming with my eyes open – Unlimited online backup space for $4.99/Year.

iDrive promises unlimited cloud-based phone backups for $5 per year

As phone and SD card storage space continues to expand, the limited (cost-effective) options to backup your device remain few and far between (Apple I’m looking at you, 128 GB iPhone 6 and 10 gb free iCloud, yea no thanks).

iDrive’s newly launched service looks to alleviate that concern.

While I haven’t yet tried out the service (at the time of writing), iDrive’s website say’s

Backup your device contacts, photos, videos, calendar events on iOS, in addition, you can backup SMS, call logs and apps, on android – in a single touch!

And to top it off, it’s cross-platform, so it should get easier to sync contacts if you carry and Apple and an Android device like me. Needless to say, this is on my list of to-do things.
